Matt is not a bible scholar. He is not a theologian. He doesn’t read the Greek translations. He doesn’t study Hebrew numerology. He can’t even reference scripture more precisely, than to say things like, “wasn’t that after that thing with the whale/flood/moneychangers/etc?”
However, he has read the bible, cover to cover and in pieces, several times over. And he has been growing in his faith for several years now. And he may actually be a latter-day bible hero. But he is by no means an expert on divinity. He is just a guy trying to serve his God and do his thing.
